Kahraba ON/OFF helps users follow electricity status in Lebanon, save regions, and receive status-change notifications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Kahraba ON/OFF is operated by project shareholders Karl Chkeiban and Maroun El Hage. Karl Chkeiban is the Apple App Store account holder and iOS seller; Maroun El Hage is the Google Play developer and Google publisher/payments account holder. Both accounts publish the same Kahraba ON/OFF service.
Information we collect
We collect only the information needed to create your account, provide electricity-status features, deliver notifications, and operate the service reliably.
Account information
Your phone number is used for sign-in and account identification. If you choose to provide them, your name and email address may be saved in your account and shown in your settings.
Saved regions
We store the regions you select so the app can show their current status, history, and the notifications you enabled for each region.
Notification tokens
We store device push-notification tokens so we can send electricity status changes, account verification messages, and service alerts.
Location features
If you use automatic or radar-based region discovery, the app may use your device location to suggest nearby lines. You can choose manual selection instead.
Requests you send
If you request a missing location or ask to become a host, we store the location text you submit and your account contact information so we can follow up.
Purchases and subscription status
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We may receive subscription status from RevenueCat so the app can unlock the correct plan.
Advertising information
Supported Free versions may offer optional rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob. When advertising is available, Google may process information such as your IP address, device and advertising identifiers, app interactions, ad impressions and clicks, diagnostic information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This information is used to deliver, limit, secure, and measure advertisements.
Advertising is not enabled in every published version. Before personalized advertising is enabled where consent is legally required, the app will request the required consent and provide applicable privacy choices. Depending on your choices and region, Google may show non-personalized or limited advertisements.
How we use information
- Authenticate your account and keep you signed in.
- Save and sync your selected regions across sessions.
- Send notifications for electricity status changes in saved regions.
- Show current status, logs, history, and plan-limited features.
- Respond to support, missing-location, and host requests.
- Improve reliability, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot technical issues.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers needed to run the app and website, including Firebase for authentication, database, cloud functions, operational diagnostics, and push notifications; RevenueCat for subscription entitlement management; Apple and Google for app-store purchases; and Google for AdMob advertising when that service is active.
We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the service, or to investigate misuse or security issues.
Retention and deletion
We keep account information while your account is active. You can delete your account from the app settings. Account deletion removes your profile, saved regions, notification subscriptions, and account access from our active systems, subject to limited records we may need to keep for legal, security, billing, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Your choices
- You can choose regions manually instead of using location-based discovery.
- You can enable or disable notifications in your device settings.
- You can edit optional account details, such as email, from settings.
- You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple or Google account.
- You can delete your account directly from the app settings.
- Where advertising consent or privacy controls are required, you can use the choices presented in the app or your device's advertising settings.
Security
We use Firebase and app-store platform services to help protect user data and access. No system can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure, but we limit collection and access to the information needed to operate Kahraba On OFF.
Children
Kahraba On OFF is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and may notify users through the app or other appropriate channels.
